Configuring Emails

The Cloud API Management Portal sends email notifications to users for New Member Registration or New Key Issued on the Developer Portal or Control Center.

note

The email configuration is not needed for the New Key Issued panel. Use the Email Templates in the APIs tab (Design > Notification Templates > Add Templates) to setup new key developer emails. The New Key Issued panel part of the Portal Settings - Emails tab is maintained for legacy purposes only.

Procedure

Configure the Portal - Emails tab settings to notify users when a new member is registered and a new key is issued on the Developer Portal or Control Center.

  1. Click Portal Settings on the Get Started page or navigate to Manage > Portal. This opens the General tab page.

  2. Navigate to the Emails tab.

  3. Provide the following details in New Member Registration and New Key Issued panels:

  4. In From Email, enter the email address.

The Traffic Manager uses this email address to send email notifications - when a new member is added or when a new key or application is created using the Developer Portal or Control Center.

    info

If the From Email address is from the client's domain, Cloud API Management must register the email address with www.authsmtp.com so that spam filters do not block these emails. After registration, the client receives an email from www.authsmtp.com asking them to authorize the Cloud API Management email address. Once authorized, the email address can be used by the Traffic Manager.

If the client wants to change the From Email address, they must notify Cloud API Management of the change so that Cloud API Management can register the new email address with www.authsmtp.com. You can start the email update process by clicking the Click here to update link on the New Member Registration panel.

  5. In From Name, enter the name for the email set in the From Email field.

  6. In Bcc Email, list all email addresses to be copied to Bcc when the Traffic Manager sends an email notification. For multiple recipients, use comma-separated email addresses. For example, John@demo3.com, Jacob@demo3.com, Anne@demo3.com.

  7. In Subject, enter the subject line text of the email.

  8. In Body, enter the email body text.

  9. Click Save.
